#Ethiopia: Journalist Temesgen Desalegn was taken from his office this afternoon by police officers, Addis Standard was able to confirm through his brother Tariku Desalegn.Today, at around 2pm in the afternoon, a substantial number of police arrived at the office of Fitih Magazine and asked for Temesgen Desalegn. “He was not in the office at the time, so the editor phoned Temesgen. One policeman received the editor’s phone and asked him his whereabouts and that they wanted him. But Temesgen told them that if they have court summons they can leave it at the office. But the policeman insisted that it is him that they want. And so Temesgen informed them they can wait for him and that he will come. Upon his arrival they took him to the station”, said his brother. Addis Standard asked the journalist’s brother why they took him, but he said “We still don’t know why and we are still waiting for him at Addis Abeba Police Commission, Piassa, together with family.”Nevertheless, it is likely that his apprehension is related to a published piece about the Addis Abeba City Deputy Mayor, Adanech Abiebie, on last Saturday’s, October 10, edition of Fitih Magazine.
