It is impossible to think of having peace in Ethiopia as far as Abiy’s regime is in power. The authorities never and ever learned from the gross crimes they committed and the mistakes they made. Abiy came to power with a hidden agenda of realising an absolute dictatorial regime to stay in power by killing and jailing others.
Ethiopia might be the only country where government forces killed millions of its people, and nothing has been done to hold the perpetrators accountable. Democracy, freedom and human rights were openly killed and buried by Abiy’s regime.
It is unlikely to think about accountability for the crimes committed by authorities because authorities act as judges using their absolute dictatorial power to squeeze court processes. Removing the killer and jailer regime of Abiy from its power by any means and bringing them for trial for justice is the best option to bring peace to Ethiopia.
Dictator Abiy has proclaimed a full-scale war against the people of Amhara to crush individuals and groups, as well as everyone else who opposes the dictatorship. However, his regime and militaries have been suffering due to stronger resistance faced by Fano and the wider public, who refused the regime.
Since modern-time dictator Abiy came to power, government forces across the country have unlawfully killed a million people, disabled them, raped them, displaced them, taken their property, imprisoned, tortured, and abducted them and non-stop.
Unfortunately, mass graves and massacres of innocent people happened by government forces and its agents across the country sustained with particular emphasis on ethnic Amharas. The regime posed a survival threat to the people of Amhara, and this is why the people of Amhara are struggling against the government.
The humanitarian and economic crisis is at a record level that was not observed in the history of Ethiopia. There is widespread hunger across the country. The majority of people are hopeless for the future. The regime killed people’s hope for tomorrow. So, Abiy’s brutal regime must be removed from its power and be accountable.
Millions of people are displaced in Ethiopia and struggling to survive with limited aid and food. The regime begs funds by the name of those people but buys military weapons such as drones to attack those civilians back. Also, Abiy’s government is using hunger as a weapon against Amhara.
This is a shameless government that has been fighting against its people to stay in power to commit further atrocity crimes against civilians. No more time and no chance for Abiy’s regime should be given to remain in power to save the lives of civilians.
Since Abiy’s regime declared war against the people of Amhara, massive protests and resistance were faced, and instability in the region quickly spiralled and resulted in catastrophic effects.
Nowadays, Abiy’s regime is only active in regional cities, some zones and woredas of the Amhara region. However, all of the rural areas are under the control of Fanos. Still, Abiy’s forces continued the mass killing of Ethnic Amharas.
For almost one year, there has been an armed struggle between Abiy’s forces and the Fanos. The resistance against the regime has wide backing from the people of Amharas. Abiy’s forces committed massacres against civilians like that has happened in Merhawi.
Abiy’s regime consecutively declared an emergency estate to silence and crash the protest. However, it could not smash the protest but rather smashed by Fanos on every battlefield across the Amahara region.
Civilian causalities and the distraction of properties by Abiy’s forces are at record levels across the Amhara region. To hide its crimes, Abiy’s regime switched off the internet in the Amhara region and banned foreign journalists from accessing it.
Still, the regime is unwilling to solve differences through dialogue which is a clear indication of dictatorship. Arbitrary detention and killing targeting Ethnic Amhara, particularly opposition party members, journalists, activists and so on, became day-to-day activities of the regime.
Generally, Abiy’s regime is a killer and jailer of those who opposed the regime. There is civilian blood in the hands of authorities of Abiy’s regime. Authorities and their agents must be accountable and pay the price for the crimes they committed.
